Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) predominantly Geographical Indications (GI) are emerging as strategic tools for enhancing the competitiveness of agricultural products in global markets. In spite of having over 500 GI-tagged agricultural products in India, the link between GI certification and operational performance of agricultural supply chains remains limited exposure. This article examines the influence of leveraging IPR through GI certification on agricultural supply chain effectiveness and global trade performance. Using a mixed-method approach with secondary data from APEDA, DGCI&S and case studies of GI products. The study analyses the impact of GI on procurement efficiency, storage, logistics, export volume and price premium. The findings try to address, Is GI certification is significantly improves supply chain coordination, will it helps to reduces post-harvest losses by that will it enhances export competitiveness? However, challenges such as low stakeholder awareness, weak enforcement and inadequate cold chain infrastructure limit the potential benefits. The study uses the panel data of the states produces higher number of GI Tagged Agri Produces and its global trade status. Also tries to integrate IPR strategy with agricultural logistics reforms to maximize export gains and effective supply chain.
